This Privacy Policy explains how LiveDiscount ("we", "us", or "the app") collects, uses, and protects information when you install and use the LiveDiscount app on your Shopify store. LiveDiscount provides real-time, behavior-triggered discount popups to help you convert store visitors into customers.

1. Information we collect

• Store information: your Shopify shop domain (myshopify.com handle) and basic store settings required to operate the app.
• Visitor discount tokens: when a shopper views your storefront, we issue a short-lived, signed visitor token (a JWT) used solely to authorize discount code requests. These tokens expire automatically and contain no personally identifying information beyond an anonymous session identifier.
• Discount activity: records of discount codes generated, claimed, and redeemed, stored against your shop to enforce usage quotas and prevent abuse.
• Shopify events: we receive store events through Shopify webhooks (orders/create, app_subscriptions/update, app/uninstalled, shop/update) necessary to reconcile redemptions, sync your subscription plan, and disable the app on uninstall.

2. How we use information

• Generate, validate, and track single-use discount codes on your behalf.
• Enforce monthly usage quotas tied to your subscription plan.
• Synchronize subscription and billing status with Shopify.
• Detect and prevent fraudulent or abusive discount activity.

3. Data sharing

We do not sell, rent, or trade your data. The only external system we interact with is Shopify, exclusively through Shopify's official APIs and using the access tokens granted when you install the app. We may disclose information if required by law.

4. Data retention and deletion

We retain store and activity data only as long as the app is installed. Upon app uninstallation we disable access immediately. We honor Shopify's data subject requests and merchant data deletion through the required GDPR webhooks (customers/data_request, customers/redact, shop/redact), after which the relevant records are removed.

5. Security

Discount codes are generated using cryptographically secure randomness, and all tokens are signed and verified. Access to Shopify is scoped to the minimum permissions required to operate the app.
